Couverture vaccinale et impact d’une consultation dédiée auprès des patients atteints de MICI sous biothérapie

Abstract : Objective: evaluate the impact of a consultation dedicated to vaccination on the vaccination coverage of patients treated with biotherapy for IBD. Method: this was a quantitative interventional study of before-after type, monocentric on the Bordeaux University Hospital, conducted from September 2018 to April 2019. 208 patients were selected at the day hospital and offered a vaccination consultation. Results: 207 patients participated in a vaccination interview and permitted to draw up an inventory of vaccination coverage. 164 patients were recalled 6 months later. Vaccination counseling provided a coverage against diphtheria of 72.6% vs. 52.4% (P <0.01); against tetanus 75% vs. 55.5% (P <0.01); against poliomyelitis 72.6% vs 51.2% (P <0.01); against pertussis 54.3% vs 31.7% (P <0.01); against HBV 70.1% vs 63.4% (P <0.01); against meningococcus C 13.4% vs 11.6% (P <0.25); against pneumococcus 49.4% vs 15.9% (P <0.01) and against influenza 39% vs 30.5% (P <0.01). The refusal of at least one of the vaccines was 20.2%. The main reason for refusal was mistrust of one or more vaccines. Overall patients considered it useful to receive a consultation dedicated to vaccination. Conclusion: a consultation dedicated to vaccination can significantly improve the vaccination coverage of patients.
