La construction du concept du cercle chez les élèves de CP-CE1 dans le cadre de la problématisation

Abstract : The framework of C. Orange's problematization proposes to set up pedagogical sequences elaborated around the construction of a situation problem. It is the students who build and solve this problem and, in so doing, bring out the necessities essential to the learning of new concepts. It is within this theoretical framework that our research has been conducted in the field of geometry, and more particularly the construction of the concept of the circle. We have chosen to introduce students to these learnings through a physical, sensory experience (determined by their age and level of abstraction) and to focus our teaching on the characteristics of the circle so that they go beyond the formal aspect of this figure. An experiment was carried out in CP-CE1 classrooms over several weeks to find out whether pupils of this age, depending on the pedagogical methods used, are able to build needs on the concept of the circle. This study showed that it is very complex for a 6/8 year old child to go beyond the figurative vision, the roundness aspect of the circle, which corroborates the official instructions of 2015.
