Master Thesis

Des lecteurs spécialisés dans un genre ambivalent : les lectures des libraires de bandes-dessinées

Abstract : The purpose of this study is to review readings of the booksellers specialising in comics and brings the articulation between profession and passion to light. This study shows profession and passion both closely interact through the reading, keystone of a commercial and cultural trade, which involves continual, direct and indirect mediations between books and customers. The interviews with twelve booksellers specialising in comics shows different ways to read, different issues for bookshops and different personal motivations. This master’s dissertation also endeavours to reveal the place of comics into readings and the professional aspect of the ninth art today.
