Développer l’attention des élèves de 5-6 ans : adaptation de l’outil ATOLE pour des élèves de Grande Section

Abstract : This master presents a research about improvement attention skills of 5-6 year-old pupils, conducted with a class of kindergartners (Grande Section de maternelle in French). The experiment is an adapation of ATOLE program (“attentive in school”) developed by Lachaux. The teaching protocol was put in place during four months. Pupils discovered attention trough comparisons of this concept to concrete situations, scenarios exercises, training on attention’s games and tools to measure and program your attention. Pre- and post-tests measuring selective attention, as well as Conners inventory (1970) were assessed. There have been improvements in class’s attention but the least attentive pupils in the classroom haven’t improved their attentional skills significantly. But thanks to ritual’s appropriation, games and tools, pupils were able to realize that they could act on their attention.
