Éradication de l’hépatite C en France : objectif 2025, le rôle des pharmacies d’officine

Abstract : Hepatitis C is a major public health problem that particularly affects drug users and people in precarious situations. The year 2018 marks a turning point in the management of the disease with the launch on the market of pangenotypic direct-acting antivirals. These new treatments allow healing in more than 95% of patients with a very good tolerance. Associated with the decision of universal access to treatment, these new therapies offer new perspectives: the eradication of the disease by 2025 in France and 2030 in the world. It is estimated that 75,000 people remain to be screened and 110,000 to be treated. All health actors must mobilize to achieve this ambitious goal and remove the remaining obstacles. Pharmacists also have a role to be defined in the delivery of treatment, information and counseling, and certainly the screening and addressing of patients.
