La responsabilité dans l’action collective : une lecture anscombienne

Abstract : How to think about the possibility of collective responsibility concerning collective action whereas a collective action needs a plurality of individuals who neither have the same intentions nor experience the group in the same manner? Therefore, the link between the individuals and the group, and the importance of individuality is questioned by the responsibility in collective action. If individual actions are never non-social actions, there are some particularities in collective action and his responsibility so we cannot strictly apply the same method on individual responsibility and collective responsibility. Elizabeth Anscombe, in her book Intention does not make collective action and responsibility her main subjects. However, Intention deals with the link between the agent and his action thanks to the effectiveness of the intention. It helps us to think about the individual participation within a collective action. Anscombe’s book also enlightens the necessity of knowledge’s agent about his action and a possibility of the re-description of the action by the agent. On this basis, we thought about the necessity of individuality in groups and the question of collective responsibility.
