Éducation thérapeutique des contraceptifs oraux par le pharmacien d'officine

Abstract : Introduction: According to the WHO, therapeutic patient education is an ongoing process whose aim is to help patients acquire or maintain the skills they need to best manage their treatment. As the contraceptive pill is a drug that is often taken continuously, it is normal to think that it should have its Therapeutic Education carried out by health professionals and in particular by the pharmacist. We will study the relevance of setting up Therapeutic Education of oral contraception in the pharmacy, by explaining the physiology, the clinic of the female genital tract, the pharmacology of the contraceptive pill and its delivery as well as the accompaniment of patients to the pharmacy. Materials and Methods: We conducted a survey of 532 people via the distribution of a Google doc form on social networks over a period of one month (from October 25, 2019 to November 25, 2019) in order to survey patients on their knowledge of the contraceptive pill, their expectations, their questions and their possible comments. Results: We were able to observe that 65.5% of the women surveyed define their knowledge on the subject as correct. 88.1% of the men questioned seem interested in their partner's contraception and 58.33% of the men questioned would be in favour of a male pill.
