Les évolutions de l'officine en Polynésie française sont-elles à la hauteur des enjeux de santé publique du territoire ?

Abstract : Extensive and dispersed territory, with an area as large as Europe, French Polynesia is since 2004 the first overseas community with autonomy status. Autonomous for the health policy, the care access has been unequal and a bit tricky in this country which the state of health remains a matter of serious concern. As the developing world, the chronic diseases related to lifestyle had been making disturbing strides in French Polynesia. The pharmacist could play a crucial part for better prevention and management. Recently, a country law authorized the establishment of new pharmacies and second suits in archipelagoes free from dispensing chemists, to promote a better access to healthcare. As recommended by the Polynesian Competition Authority, and to follow the example of many countries, that health effort could be continued by new tasks allocated to pharmacists.
