La Martinique entre F/français : la variation diatopique dans le FLE

Abstract : The teaching of French refers in a collective imaginary to the teaching of one form of French, namely the standard variety - commonly called "good French". An ideological tendency, a political ideology, a linguistic policy, and a language planning which continue to persist today, and which put aside the natural variation of the language. Speakers are the primary actors in the continuity and transmission of this situation. Therefore, teachers are among the main actors because being themselves, speakers acting in society. For my dissertation, I am interested in the diatopic variation in FFL in Martinique, and precisely in the space devoted, by teachers, to the standard variety and the regional variety of French in the FFL class or workshop. I query the speeches of teachers, their representations, and attitudes to paint a portrait of teaching practice on this French island.
