L’amélioration du partage des données produites dans le cadre des atlas de biodiversité communale

Abstract : The Atlas de Biodiversité Communale (ABC) program contains numerous projects piloted by local structures on a determined territory. They usually last 3 years at most and aim at a better understanding of the issues concerning biodiversity on the territory. At the time of its launch in 2010, it was promoted mainly as a tool to raise awareness about biodiversity. However, since 2018 with the Biodiversity Plan, the focus is on the data acquired thanks to this program. This is the reason why the project DatABC was born. The objective of DatABC is to get a better understanding of ABC projects and give support to those who participate in these projects on the theme of data sharing. As such, this study took an interest on how data were shared until now. We discovered that it is difficult to find data produced by ABC projects for reasons including tools that cannot separate data acquired during an ABC from those from other projects, a lack of directive from those who oversee the program and limits in the information system recommended to share data: the Système d’information pour la nature et le paysage (SINP). Recommendations on three areas were given to improve the data sharing process: communication, support and supervision. Two scenarios of data flow were also designed: one relies on a tool developed specifically for ABC projects while the other relies on services already available. Both scenarios were compared. The study concluded that the 2nd scenario is privileged.
