Les facteurs influant la planification de cours : étude de cas à l’Institut Américain Universitaire

Abstract : The act of teaching manifests a combination of three intrinsically linked processes: teacher knowledge, planning, and practical experience from class interactions. Planning is an essential step that simplifies the teaching act. The didactic content is prepared before the course, summarizing the course from the beginning to end. During the preparation, the teacher tries both to organize logically and visualize the course he will have to perform in front of the learners in order to predict what the learners will learn while knowing that unforeseen events will appear. Teacher planning is constantly changing because of the emergence of new parameters in its teaching actions. Therefore, this leads the teacher to constantly modify, adapt, change, readjust his planning. This has, therefore, an impact on the factors that constitute the teaching behavior. Indeed, the time factor, the institutional factor, the personal factor and the planning factor change and vary according to the emerging parameters. These intrinsically linked factors influence each other. What influences do 134 different factors (time / personal / institutional) have on the factor of course planning? What effects does the experience of teaching practice have on lesson planning? In a case study done at the American University Institute, it will be a question of analyzing the different effects of the factors on the planning of four teachers from a sample of course syllabus, syllabi and interviews.
