Leviers à la prise en charge des femmes victimes de violences conjugales : enquête qualitative menée auprès de sages-femmes grenobloises

Abstract : Objective: Identify the levers for the care by midwives of women victims of domestic violence. Methods: This is a qualitative study conducted by semi-structured interviews with 20 midwives from the Grenoble basin, practicing in liberal and maternity. The midwives’ participation was based on volunteering. We were two students midwives doing our thesis on the same theme but we didn’t have the same objective. A common framework for each interview was carried out upstream and we defined three main axes to meet the objective of this thesis. Results: 16 midwives have already been confronted with patients who are victims of domestic violence. Their knowledge of this violence allows them to be better comprehend. 15 midwives reckon they have a role to play in this care. Establish a relationship of trust with these patients is essential. The networks, training, legal tools and actions carried out by the Government are necessary resources in the care of these women. Conclusion: The midwives’ knowledge of domestic violence, their professional implications and their resources are the levers for the care of women victims of domestic violence.
