Évaluation de la perception de la Tocophobie chez les femmes enceintes prévoyant d’accoucher aux CHU Marseillais

Abstract : Pregnancy leads to upheavals and changes, both psychic and physical, which have the repercussions of a more or less significant state of vulnerability, which in some women can lead to fears about pregnancy and childbirth. The main and secondary objectives of this study are to identify and measure the tocophobic perception of pregnant women who plan to give birth in CHU Nord / Conception; compare the tocophobic perception between primiparous and multiparous and identify the differences in perception levels between the three trimesters of pregnancy. The research work took place in two type III maternity hospitals, CHU Marseillais from June 2019 to November 2019. A quantitative, proactive and bicentric study conducted using the fear of childbirth scale (EPA) which is the tool principal of it. 11% of pregnant women are affected by the severe fear of childbirth. The fear most expressed by them is mainly the loss of control. A previous negative experience of childbirth, lack of social support as well as the presence of pathology during pregnancy increase the fear of childbirth. Fears of childbirth have an impact on the behavior of women as well as on the course of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. The role of midwives is important because it influences the lives of women. As a healthcare professional, it is important to offer these women the opportunity to talk about it and to feel heard. Early and late detection would allow them personalized support adapted to their needs, which would increase their ability to face these fears.
