Intérêt de la kinésithérapie dans le traitement non-opératoire du syndrome des loges chronique : une revue de littérature

Abstract : Chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS) is a condition characterized by the onset of exercise pain as a result of increased intramuscular pressure. This muscular pain is mainly localized to the lower limbs, but also affects other areas such as the forearms. Most of sports and military populations have been identified. The symptomatology is described by pain on exertion and functional incapacity to exercise. It is to be differentiated from compartment syndrome, which is non-reversible and requires urgent surgery. The lack of consensus on its diagnosis and treatment complicates management. Methods : A review of the literature was conducted to identify physiotherapy techniques for the treatment of Chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS). A total of 13 articles were reviewed. The search was completed on 08/10/2019. Results : The results tend towards an efficiency of the physiotherapy. In addition, biomechanical running changes reported positive effects. However, the results are inferior to the reference surgical treatment. The selected studies are of low power, which limited the robustness of the data. Discussion/ Conclusion : The physiotherapy treatment options had no adverse effects. It would be recommended to apply non-operative management as a first step before considering surgical options.
