Intérêt de l’activité physique dans la prévention des chutes chez les personnes âgées atteintes de la maladie d’Alzheimer

Abstract : People with Alzheimer's disease have a higher risk of falling than those without the disease. Physical activity programs to prevent falls are common and effective in the general elderly population. The purpose of this work is to study the effects of physical activity in older adults with Alzheimer's disease. Method : a non-systematic review of the literature was conducted. Results : the practice of physical activity showed an improvement in physical performance in people with Alzheimer's disease. A trend towards a decrease in the number of falls and an improvement in the performance of activities of daily living was also observed. Discussion : these results are not found in the same proportions in all the studies, and the methodological quality of the studies is not sufficient to draw firm conclusions. Conclusion : further research needs to be carried out to clarify the optimal conditions for implementing this physical activity and to confirm the results found in this work.
