Apport du guide méthodologique d’éducation thérapeutique du patient amputé de membre inférieur : évaluation des pratiques professionnelles

Abstract : In October 2016, a methodological guide was published to help professional to elaborate a therapeutic patient education (TPE) program for lower limb amputee. The aim of this study is to analyse TPE exercices for amputees and assess the impact of this guide on physiotherapists practices. Methods : two surveys were created for this study: one for rehabilitation physicians and health executives and the other for physiotherapists. Results : the analysis of the results showed that the number of TPE programs for amputees has increased in recent years. The guide is a good working document and many institutions have used it to create their own program. However, the guide is used diversely in physiotherapist’s practices although their criticisms are not negative. Discussion : physiotherapists have an important role in TPE programs for amputees. But it would seem that there are different ways of doing patient education between the TPE formalized by the recommandations and the “invisible” TPE daily practiced during rehabilitation sessions.
