Étude critique de la phytothérapie dans les soins de support en oncologie

Abstract : Cancer is the first cause of mortality in France and its management is evolving with the addition of supportive care to account for all the needs of the patient. Use of complementary and alternative medicine is important as well in the management of cancer, amongst whom phytotherapy is pretty important. But its usage don’t come without interrogation about security and efficacy, including in supportive care. Phytotherapy presents some particularity for its use in supportive care. On condition of proving its usefulness. Available data isn’t always good enough to conclude, but every clinical trial have been analysed to attempt extracting recommendations on which plant to use, to avoid or to conduct clinical trial on next. The most relevant data have been summarised into forms for health professionals. Fifteen plants have been processed this way: Achillea millefolium, Actaea racemosa, Aloe vera, Calendula officinalis, Cannabis sativa, Curcuma longa, Glycine max, Matricaria chamomilla, Panax ginseng et panax quinquefolium, Paullinia cupana, Silybum marianum, Trifolium pratense and Zingiber officinale.
