Le drone, un outil indispensable en cas de crise hydro-gravitaire‎ : de l'inventaire à la caractérisation de l'aléa au Japon

Abstract : Over the last decade, the use of UAVs in the field of environmental risks has been booming. The interest of this research paper lies in the use of UAVs on different scales applied to hydro-gravity risks in Japan. The data used are derived from post-crisis hydro-gravity UAV flights and produced by SfM-MVS photogrammetry. On a regional scale, landslide mapping and inventory are based on 2 methods: the threshold approach and the object-oriented approach (OBIA) in the eCognition software. On a local scale, the purpuse is to determine the possibilities offered by the UAV in terms of spatial resolution and precision of geographical positioning for the characterisation of hazards. For the regional inventory, the object-oriented method has enabled to obtain a success rate of about 70% against 50% for the thresholding method. The local scale protocol allowed, thanks to the use of 6 control points arranged in a hexagonal manner, to obtain a decimetric positioning accuracy (RMSE XY = 18cm, RMSE Z = 38cm and total RMSE = 43cm). However, there is a threshold effect linked to the surface and spatial configuration of the study site from which the addition of control points does not bring any significant improvement. The techniques and methodologies used can be transposed to different study objects such as flood areas or deposition zones in torrential beds.
