Sports libres et espace public : le cas du skateboard

Abstract : The issue of free sports is important today in our reflections around the development of public space. Indeed, the solutions proposed are heterogeneous, we have difficulty in effectively dealing with changing social demands and the environmental challenges of tomorrow. Skateboarding, a practice that allows extreme appropriation of space, is the study case for this dissertation. We can distinguish two dynamics of support for practice. One is to offer dedicated equipment in the form of opulent skate parks. The other is to pool the uses of the street by offering gentle integration into public spaces. We propose to study both cases in order to try to offer an adequate solution to the support of skateboarding in public space.
