Étude qualitative de la prise en charge de la femme ménopausée à l'officine en Normandie

Abstract : In France, the menopause occurs at the age of 51 years old in general. Women’s life expectancy is actually around 85 years old, a woman will live then a third of her life with menopause. It is important to appreciate the symptoms arising during this period in order to propose a personal treatment at the dispensary. A qualitative study has been realised with semi-structured interviews from 10 postmenopausal women and 7 pharmacists of the dispensary in Normandy. The study’s results show that the postmenopausal woman suffers from her symptoms and seek to obtain relief by different health professional. Furthermore, these women feel a lake of interest from the health professional about the subject. These women have faith in their pharmacy nearby, so they often turn to the pharmacists of the dispensary to be advised. The pharmacies have available different products and medicines to meet the needs. On the other hand, the pharmacists of the dispensary are not always comfortable with this subject. This lake of self-confidence comes from mainly a lake of training on this subject.
