La prévention des troubles vocaux chez les choristes amateurs

Abstract : Due to the lack of voice knowledge and due to an inappropriate vocal gesture, amateur choristers can easily develop vocal disorders. The objective of this study is to demonstrate that indirect prevention interventions about vocal disorders provided to the amateur choristers population could improve vocal habits ; increase voice knowledge ; limit vocal disorders and facilitate the recognition of typical signs of vocal gesture disturbances. We organised 3 prevention interventions with 3 amateurs choirs and proposed 2 questionnaires (the first one at the beginning of the first intervention; the second one at the end of the third intervention). The aim was to assess possible evolutions. Thanks to the interventions, the results suggest an improvement in the various parameters mentioned among a major part of the choristers. Moreover, most of the amateur choristers themselves noticed a notable benefit from these interventions. However, the indirect prevention approach alone is not sufficient. In fact, we have not noticed any change after the prevention for a part of the population.
