L'activisme , un indicateur des rapports Nord-Sud

Abstract : In the context of globalization and because of the potential inefficiency of public policies to improve the welfare of South workers ; private agents and activists decided to act in order to complete or replace the action of public institutions. In this research essay, we aimed to analyze the impact of several forms of activism on southern workers’ welfare. More especially, we wondered whether the quality or the content of the information disclosed by activists enabled the improvement of this welfare by encouraging the firms and the consumers to change their behaviour. Thus, in the first part, we analyze how the opposition between activists and firms, as part of the transition of public policies into private ones, can lead to the emergence of negative information transmitted by the activists. Actually, these information turn out to be mostly negative for Southern workers. Then, in the second part, we think about the consumption as a means for the activists in the North to discuss the limits of this tool. If the negative information seem to be the framework of the ambiguous effects of the activism on the welfare of South workers, would positive information really reverse this mechanism ?
