Abstract : Background and objective: the mastery of an academic internship aims at developing residents skills, through a reflexive approach. The relationship between a resident and a university internship supervisor is based on teaching methods with skills learning, characterized by communication and interactions. We suggested an on-line approved continuing learning to residents and their supervisor in pairs. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of this tool on their teaching relationship. Methods: between May and November 2018, we reached 144 first-level intern residents in general medicine and their supervisor in the Aquitaine area, in order for them to take part in this co-training. The registered pairs were questionned on the way they chose to achieve the training and on the impact it had on their teaching relationship. Results: the participation rate was as much as 24%. Most of the participants found this experience really positive. The participants said they achieved the training on their own due to a lack of time and organisational difficulties. However, some teaching practices have changed, such as the opening of a discussion about coutinuing training and the sharing of previous experiences. The residents noticed a better evaluation of their difficulties and of their skills by their supervisor and also a better adjustement to their learning and their professional aspiration. Conclusion: as far as we know, all this consists in an innovative experience to suggest a continuing training to residents and supervisors in pairs. An e-learning training in pairs appears as a new tool that allows a better adult pedagogy focused on the resident.
