Profil du médecin généraliste intéressé pour ouvrir une consultation de médecine générale aux urgences de Lisieux

Abstract : Faced with the increased pressure in the Accident and Emergencies services (A&E) and the growing problem of medical deserts in the south region of “the Pays d’Auge”, how can we maintain the service for non-scheduled patients? And why do patients go directly to Accident and emergencies services rather than consulting a General Practitioner (GP). The reasons are multi-factorial; the benefice of an available Technical Pole at their disposal as well as an eventual specialized practitioner’s advice but also the acute lack of dedicated and available General practitioners doctors. How can we challenge the medical desert trend? The project “My Health 2022” offers two solutions: in town; pluri-specialized branches with a light technical structure and at the hospital the development of a short access medical circuit. For the accident and emergencies services install a General practitioner so as to allow the freeing up at the Accident and from non-vital cases amongst patients. But what would be the profile of such a General practitioner interested in taking on this position? To get to know his/her profile we have realized a quality based study with a questionnaire sent to all General practitioner’s in the South Pays d’Auge Region classified as a medical desert area. This has enabled us to highlight two types of profiles.
