Une approche multimodale de la poésie comme levier à l’acculturation à l’écrit

Abstract : In a classroom context where pupils have already been encouraged to partake in written acculturation, I wanted to enrich their literary experience by proposing poetry sessions which would actively further this process. Inspired by research findings, I decided to place variety at the heart of my strategy by encouraging pupils to engage in activities which favour diverse means of expression by centering my approach around film-poetry. The meticulous planning and methodology behind my lesson sequence, which was firmly rooted in written acculturation paid off because, not only were pupils able to see things in a new light, but they also started to develop new poetic reflexes while at the same time broadening their literary knowledge. Given the challenges it inevitably presents, poetry has a crucial role to play in the process of written acculturation, but it is essential to exploit its multiple strenghts so as to avoid limiting its effectiveness.
