Vaccination coquelucheuse dans le cadre de la stratégie du cocooning à la maternité du CHU de Caen : quelles sont les connaissances actuelles des pères concernant la coqueluche et sa prévention par la vaccination ?

Abstract : The population concerned fathers whose wives were hospitalized in Caen University Hospital’s maternity ward, from September 10 to December 17, 2019. Among the 195 fathers who took part in the study, 143 claimed to be vaccinated (vaccination coverage of 77%) during their partner’s stay in the maternity ward. Father’s vaccination coverage for pertussis vaccine is 82% six weeks after leaving the maternity’s ward. The questionnaire highlighted a moderately satisfactory knowledge score: 5.5/10. Fathers who have been informed by a health professional are more vaccinated than the other. They expected to receive flyers and also wanted to be informed about vaccination at the beginning of pregnancy in order to anticipate it. Although satisfied with the vaccination coverage, it can be further improved by providing fathers with immunization in the service, by midwives or the general practitioner, before discharge from hospital.
