Utilisation des propriétés ablatives des lasers en orthodontie

Abstract : Used in odontology since 1960, the LASER or « Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation » became a precise, efficient and essential work tool. There have been growing applications, especially in Orthodontics allowing to improve and facilitate treatments. This thesis will present non-penetrative laser, immediatly absorbed close to the impact point. They can be used before, during and after the treatment, in soft tissue therapy or hard tissue treatment (enamel etchning and braces removal). A bibliography research has been led to understand the working principe of the laser and its interest, to detail each application in orthodontic practice and to specify the clinical protocols. The legal and safety considerations as for its use in office will also be discussed.
