Les motifs pittoresques dans le paysage naturel de Félix Vallotton

Abstract : The Picturesque Patterns in the Natural Landscape of Félix Vallotton humbly touches upon the great theme of Félix Vallotton's landscape, which still has many questions and problems to explore. Landscape in creativity is a very wordy genre and can tell about the entire artistic language of the painter. This dissertation is aimed at identifying the characteristics in the landscape of Félix Vallotton, due to which the picturesqueness in the work is created. To solve this problem, 19 landscapes were analyzed, painted by the artist at different periods of his life. Based on their analysis, one can see the patterns and principles of Félix Vallotton's work with the landscape. Color and form become the subject of interest in the work, since it is with the help of these two indissoluble elements that the artist achieves greater picturesqueness. The painter simplifies both color and form, approaching those very abstract artists who realized that color and form themselves can create something emotionally affecting the viewer.
