Lycée professionnel et ambitions de poursuite d'études

Abstract : Vocational school students are regularly associated with the idea of short and difficult school years. During this research, our goal was to confront those stereotypes by asking students in last school year about their post-secondary studies’ ambitions. As a first step, we framed the historical aspect surrounding how the vocational path is integrated to the educational system and we analyzed the current organization of the vocational baccalaureate. Then, we focused on those students’ school path through a quiz and individual interviews. The intended purpose of our work is to highlight the various factors influencing the will to pursue secondary studies within a public who progress in pathways traditionally associated with the idea of a quick entry into the labor market.
