Les péri-implantites : abord des étiologies et efficacité des lasers

Abstract : Objectives: Peri-implantitis is defined as an inflammatory reaction around osseointegrated implants, resulting in progressive loss of bone around the fixtures. Many therapeutic protocols are proposed in the treatment of peri-implantitis leading practitioners to choose one from a large number. Some authors advance promising results in the treatment of peri-implantitis, by the use of lasers. The aim of this literature review is to assess the effectiveness of different types of lasers (Er:YAG, CO2, Diode, Er;Cr: YSGG and Nd:YAG), used in odontostomatology, in the treatment of peri- implantitis in the past 12 years and their applications in surgical and non-surgical procedures. Although lasers have shown promising results in reducing the clinical signs of peri-implantitis, due to limited sample size and short follow-up periods, no definitive conclusions can be drawn at this time. Therefore, it is necessary to have more prospective longitudinal randomized controlled trials to obtain a high level of evidence.
