Les bénéfices de l'utilisation de l'indicateur physiologique fréquence respiratoire (FR), en comparaison à l'utilisation de la fréquence cardiaque (FC) dans la régulation de l'effort perçu des élèves en EPS

Abstract : We are interested here in the use of breath frequency in PE, that can give a better marker of physical effort objective but also subjective, compared to physical variable usually controlled, such as heart rate. We hypothesize that, for a school public, within the framework of the field of learning n ° 5 and more precisely of the duration race, this indicator (FR) is more predictive of the perception of the effort than the HR, the latter being still used by PE teachers. For this, a discontinuous incremental test was carried out by a population of more than fifty high school students. Therefore, our results result from a correlation between FR and RPE for high intensities (110% VMA), which makes this physiological variable relevant to use despite some academic limitations. FC is not correlated with RPE based on our results. Thus, our hypothesis is confirmed for high intensities and to be deepened for the rest as well as the validation of the repeatability character of our experiment.
