Étude comparative des processus acquisitionnels du français auprès d’enfants bilingues turcophones et/ou kurdophones scolarisés à l’école maternelle

Abstract : Bilingualism and plurilingualism are a significant part of the world's population. Therefore, research on the mechanisms involved in early language acquisition is ongoing. Our work aims at observing the acquisitional processes of French with allophone students in MSM and GSM. We intervened with two groups of simultaneous and consecutive early bilingual children, Turkish-speaking and/or Kurdish-speaking, in order to study the influence of one or two mother tongues on French. Each child was submitted to tests from speech-language assessment batteries. We found that children who were simultaneously bilingual had better results. This led us to propose some ideas on the acquisition mechanisms related to the age of confrontation with the second language, but also on the influence of the number of languages in contact on the children's language performance in French.
