Accompagnement à l’arrêt du tabac : changements perçus par les professionnels de santé « nouveaux prescripteurs » à la suite des soirées d’information organisées par l’Assurance Maladie, en Nouvelle-Aquitaine

Abstract : Introduction: with 13 million smokers in France, stopping smoking is a major public health issue. The CPAM and COREADD have set up information evenings intended to promote support for smokers by health professionals such as nurses, dental surgeons, physiotherapists, and midwives. The objective of our study is to assess the impact of these eveningson the representations and declared practices of professionals. Method: this is a qualitative study using a double coding of semi-structured interviews, with 20 health professionals working in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, in 2020. We met 5 participants in the evenings of each profession. The study benefits from triangulation of data, sources, researchers as well as ecological triangulation. The analysis of the results was carried out according to grounded theory. The main objective was to identify the impact of these information evenings on theparticipants, in terms of representations, strategies and practices around support for quitting smoking. Results: the information evenings were beneficial andappreciated by the participants. Their representation of smokers has been changed. Management strategies and the prescription of TNS intensified after the evenings. The main obstacles observed are the lack of time and the difficulty in carrying out a follow-up. Conclusion: to promote as much as possible the weaning of patients who smoke, it is necessary to inform patients on the one hand of the possibility of finding help from all health professionals and of repeating training with these professionals to strengthen their involvement and knowledge.
