La médiation des maisons d'édition régionales

Abstract : The French regionalist publishing industry, still unknown by a large majority of the public and literary researchers, is yet an important actress in French regions. However, regionalist publishing houses struggle to find a place on the French literary market: as the monopoly of the big publishing houses and the disinterest of the younger populations is not helping, regionalist publishing houses needs to set up a strategy to promote and boost the visibility of their catalogues. This M.A. thesis therefore aims to study the different forms of mediation that a regionalist publishing house can put in place to secure itself a place in the French literary market in a sustainable way. As the territory is an important concept for such a structure, we are wondering about the connection that it can maintain with the mediation of a regionalist publishing house. Furthermore, with the development of the Internet in recent years, it is essential that regionalist publishing houses follow suit and expand their online mediation. Mediation is an essential strategy to put in place for the regionalist structure, which then gains in visibility and recognition. The recent health crisis having undermined the French literary industry, it is also important that we ask ourselves about the changes that it has been able to bring to the mediation of regionalist publishing houses and what forms it can take in the future.
