Angiographie par tomographie par cohérence optique dans le cadre du glaucome : étude comparative qualitative

Abstract : The diagnosis and the follow-up of glaucoma is based on anatomical criterias and complementary examinations such as visual field and optical coherence tomography. In the past years, thanks to the evolution of speed acquisition and the transformation of results through algorithms of optical coherence tomography, a new technique has appeared “optical coherence tomography angiography” which make possible the visualisation of retinal microvasculature without injection of contrast product. We provide a single-center retrospective study conducted at the CHU de Caen between December 2019 and August 2020 including patients with glaucoma and having optical coherence tomography angiography and comparing the drop out of the peripapillary microvascularization observed compared to a control population. For each subject we chose to include the worst eye. The study concerns a glaucoma group that included 37 patients (37 eyes), a control group with 35 patients (35 eyes). For the main criterion, which is the number of microvascular drop out per quadrant at the OCTA, we observe that there is a significant difference between the two populations, the population affected by glaucoma has an average of 2.94 quadrants affected against 0.647 for the control population (P <0.001). There is a significant difference in the number of quadrants with a microvascular defect between a population with glaucoma and a control population.
