Sentiment d’efficacité personnelle des nouveaux diplômés sages-femmes de la région Auvergne Rhône Alpes pour les consultations de contraception

Abstract : Objectives: To estimate new graduates' self-efficacy (SE) for contraceptive consultations ; and to objectify a difference in self-efficacy regarding training and practicing. Methods: The SE was evaluated through a declarative, multi-centre cross-sectional study of new midwifery graduates in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region in 2020. Results: Self-efficacy scores are high. The internal organisation of each school does not seem to impact self-efficacy. There was no significant difference in self efficacy according to the number of courses. 64% of the participants thought they needed further training and had a significantly lower self-efficacy. Participants are satisfied with the initial training and the self-efficacy increases with this satisfaction. Conclusion: The new graduates who responded have a high self-efficacy in performing contraceptive consultations. They are satisfied with the current initial training in gynaecology. More than half of them think that they need further training to practice, which leads us to suggest areas for improvement.
