Adopter un comportement physiquement actif à long terme : enjeux motivationnels pour des patients atteints de pathologies chroniques

Abstract : The number of people with chronic diseases has been increasing in recent years. Among all the management options available for this population, physical activity is strongly recommended. However, only a small percentage of patients maintain physical activity once the treatment programs have been completed. In order to overcome this difficulty encountered in the past years, the motivational aspect is a crucial issue during treatment. In this context, the purpose of the present study was to propose an individualized 8-week program of adapted physical activity (APA), with technical intervention, in order to promote and/or modify motivation so that the patient adopts a physically active behavior in the long term. An experimental protocol of 16 sessions aimed at “motivational change", associated with the “Centre Santé Bien-Être” program, was given to 11 subjects (versus 12 controls). The result from the analysis of the variable used: motivation, did not reveal any significant difference. Nevertheless, in a more quantitative way, all the results showed positive improvements after the "motivational change" treatment.
