Influence d’un programme d’APA sur l’estime de soi et la perception de la qualité de vie chez des patients atteints d’addictions

Abstract : Contexts and objectives : Dependances are a major problem of public Health and generate lots of troubles as psychological consequences with a low self-esteem and physical sequelles with a low perception of the quality of life. The protocol established is to evaluate the profits of the adapted physical activities on the self-esteem and quality of life. Process : 15 patients, men and women from 30 to 60 years old, in an addictology center, weaned for one month will take part in a 7 weeks program. Patients participate to cardio, muscle building and walking activities. Patients have to fill in two questionnaires, the first one named ISP-25 to evaluate the self-esteem and the other named SF-36 to assess the perception of life quality at the beginning and at the end of the program. Results : The results show a significant increase of the overall self-esteem, the strength, and physical appearance. For the perception of the quality of life, the mental part shows also a significant increase (emotional feeling, vitality, well-being). There are no significant results for the physical skills. Conclusion : An adapted physical activities program is an important key point and positively modify the self-esteem and the perception of the life quality. All the settings haven't be modified, it would be necessary to readjust the program over tim, frequency and intensity of the physical activities.
