L’histoire de l'historiographie de 1981 à nos jours : Étude comparée : L'historiographie de Charles-Olivier Carbonell et L'historiographie de Nicolas Offenstadt

Abstract : This research fits in the spiral movement of historical research described by Sylvain Venayre. "After history came historiography, then history of historiography. Historical research now seems to progress by following a spiral movement " (Sylvain Venayre, Disparu !, Paris, Les Belles Lettres, 2012.) The history of research in historiography is this study’s subject. Through two books, L’historiographie by Charles-Olivier Carbonell and L’historiographie by Nicolas Offenstadt, this study examines developments in the historical field of the history of historiography from 1981 to the present day. Towards this aim, the theorical aspects, the practical aspects and the link between history and history of historiography are analysed and the question of the existence of a paradigm break in history of historiography since 1981 is raised.
