Intérêt de la balnéothérapie sur l’équilibre du patient AVC chronique

Abstract : Background: The use of hydrotherapy is widespread, and its therapeutic application are varied. This rehabilitation is especially indicated in the care of patients who are suffering from stroke. Objectives: The purpose of this review is to determine the effectiveness of hydrotherapy onimproving the balance of patients suffering from chronic stroke. Methods: Much research was done on three different databases, which are: PEDro, PubMed and Cochrane. Five randomized clinical trials were selected, studying the benefits of hydrotherapy on the of patient with chronic stroke. Results and analysis: There are biases in our studies that have been accounted for the analysis of the results. The assessment criterion being balance, several measuring tools were used. The results showed a trend in favor of hydrotherapy, however no difference in effectiveness between the two treatments was found to be significant and proven. Discussion: Hydrotherapy provides rehabilitation in a safe environment for the patient. It brings diversity to the treatment, which allows it to be a significant complement to conventional rehabilitation. The installation and maintenance of a swimming pool represent a substantial cost that can be a brake to its use.
