Le core stability dans le traitement de la scoliose idiopathique chez l’adolescent

Abstract : Introduction: Idiopathic scoliosis is an evolutionary deformation of the spine in the three planes of space with no known cause. It is a pathology affecting the musculoskeletal system that constitutes the vast majority of scoliosis among teenagers. The core stability method is a method of strengthening deep trunk muscles to improve spinal stability, used in practice for other pathologies such as low back pain or with athletes to improve their performance. Objective/Aim: The aim of this literature review is to study the work of core stability deep core muscles in the management of patients aged 10 to 19 years old with idiopathic scoliosis. Methodology: Many articles were selected using the Pubmed and Google Scholar databases, only three of which met the inclusion criteria. Results and analysis: The results showed that this method, according to the programs, led to an improvement in curvature angles and quality of life or no improvement at all. It doesn’t represent a risk for the participants but its results are not all significant. Conclusion: The effectiveness of this technique on subjects with idiopathic scoliosis remains to be deepened. Several parameters, such as wearing an orthopedic brace, come into play and can distort our conclusions. However, it seems more effective clinically speaking on subjects with idiopathic scoliosis qualified as orthopedic.
