Préservation alvéolaire post-extractionnelle : biomatériaux, indications et techniques chirurgicales

Abstract : When the prognosis for a tooth is poor and its extraction is inevitable, post-extraction alveolar resorption occurs. This phenomenon is widely described in the literature. To overcome this natural process, the practitioner has a wide choice of techniques grouped under the term “alveolar ridge preservation” (ARP). These procedures are now part of the therapeutic arsenal of the dentist. They seek to maintain the shape of the alveolar ridge using different biomaterials. Several decision criteria must be considered to guide the pre- or per-implant strategy.
