Impact de la forme atriale gauche analysée par scanner sur la formation de thrombus chez les patients atteints de fibrillation atriale

Abstract : Stroke risk prediction is an important issue for patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) management. Actual criteria used in clinical practice do not allow a reliable risk-benefit assessment of anticoagulation in AF. A tough para-clinical approach is requisite. Two methods were developed to study the left atrial morphology and its impact on hemodynamic and blood clot formation in the left atrial appendage. Computational fluid dynamic analysis of left atria, based on patient-specific CT-scan anatomy models, were processed to assess left atrial shape influence on haemodynamic. This study was conducted in cooperation with the department of Information and Communication Technologies of Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, especially Prof Oscar Camara and his Phd student Jordi Mill Tena. - Simplified representation of pulmonary veins and left atrial appendage using graphs was developed and used in an innovative deep learning network in order to identify characteristics associated with blood clot formation. This study was conducted with the project-team Epione from INRIA at INRIA Sophia Antipolis, especially Dr Maxime Sermesant and his Phd student Josquin Harrison.
