Dynamique et évolution du trait de côte de la baie de Saint-Vaast-La-Hougue entre 1947 et 2100. Étude diachronique, contemporaine et prospective ; utilisation des outils SIG – informatiques et de laboratoire

Abstract : The integrated management of coastal areas has become one of the priority lines of action among state organizations and development stakeholders. Indeed, these complex and dynamic territories have long been coveted by the populations, for economic reasons but also for the living environment, which makes them spaces in perpetual evolution. Today, the anthropogenic pressure exerted on these spaces is considerable. However, with current and future climate change, growing and exponentially, goods and populations are more than threatened. The storms will be more violent, the water levels greater and therefore disasters will be more recurring. Consequently, the study of these environments, the understanding of the dynamics of the foreshore or intertidal zone, the coastline and the hinterland, are necessary steps to be carried out upstream with a view to integrated risk management. This thesis will therefore, from this approach, characterize the different coastal dynamics that act in the hydro-sedimentary cell of the bay of Saint-Vaast, in Normandy, on the east coast of Cotentin. From different maps, different complex computer processing, interviews with the population and laboratory tools, a multitude of points and concepts are discussed through: the past evolution of the coastline and areas of marine submersion , the evolution of the coastline over the winter period, and the future position of the coastline and the flood zones for the 2050 and 2100 deadlines.
