Le projet de naissance vu par les sages-femmes effectuant des consultations anténatales programmées

Abstract : Introduction: Women are increasingly expressing their willingness to actively participate and respect their choice around their pregnancy and childbirth. They want real personalized care and more people express their wishes, especially in the form of a birth project. Method: This is a cross-sectional, etiological descriptive observational study of midwives in the Auvergne territory. The main objective was to measure the percentage of midwives in consultation giving information to pregnant women about the birth plan. The two secondary objectives were to determine the adequacy of the definition of the birth plan of the midwives interviewed in relation to that of the HAS and to analyze whether the practices differ depending on the mode of exercise, the year of graduation or the time spent on a follow-up pregnancy consultation. Results: 97.33% of midwives tell their patients about the birth plan. The majority agree that this is a statement of the wishes of the parents on the course of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. The only difference observed is that the shorter the time for a monthly consultation, the less the midwives talk about the birth plan and the less they propose an individual birth preparation. Conclusion: While midwives are interested in the women's birth project, there are still a number of areas for improvement. The establishment of a consultation dedicated to the discussion of the project seems relevant for its accompaniment in an adequate way.
