Rôle du pharmacien d’officine dans le suivi des patients souffrant de schizophrénies

Abstract : Schizophrenia is a complex disease, with many forms, affecting approximately 1% of the population. The care pathway involves a lot of practitioners with various specialties. Since the development of management treatments, starting from the second half of the 20th century, we have witnessed a deinstitutionalization of these patients who, because of this therapeutic advance, must frequent pharmacies and, naturally, place the dispensary pharmacist at the center of this treatment path. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze schizophrenia in all its components, but also the place and positioning of the dispensary pharmacist in the management of this disease. To achieve that, an inventory of the situation was conducted in 2020 in the departments of Calvados, Manche and Orne. This assessment highlighted strengths and weaknesses in the intervention of this healthcare professional. Nevertheless, the role of the dispensary pharmacist cannot be challenged. He is essential in the follow-up of patients suffering from schizophrenias. To strengthen this positioning, changes/improvements could be put in place to optimize a more favorable care for patients.
