Abstract : La Choletaise Horticulture is a producer of potted plants that want to develop a range of pot grown herbs for mass food retail. A market survey has shown that consumers are interested in the organic label and alternatives to plastic pot. This paper assesses impacts of container, organic substrate and frequency of organic liquid fertilization on the quality and production cost of three herb species (basil, parsley and chives) through two trials. This document also puts forward the most consistent options (from an agronomic, economic and commercial point of view) for the company.
