La médiatisation des savoirs. Les plateformes à visée éducative, une nouvelle injonction ?

Abstract : Knowledge mediation platforms, much more than simple knowledge databases, are becoming real supports for the educational function. However, most of them are produced and developed by media industries, whose first job is not education but the transmission of information. The objective of this study is to understand if the control of information and communication techniques by the media industries makes them legitimate actors in the education field. More precisely, it will be a matter of understanding if the media industries, by their mediating function, creates itself this role of educator to perpetuate their structures. As the negative media treatment proposed for the school system progresses, it would seem society has taken for granted the function of educator. This study approach the notions of self-fulfilling prophecy and fickle romance proposed by Robert King Merton and Larry Cuban to compare them to the speeches offered by the media on education.
