Freins et motivations des médecins généralistes à la déclaration des événements indésirables graves associés aux soins

Abstract : Introduction: there is a large difference between the number of serious adverse events associated with care reported in 2017 according to HAS compared to the number of SAEs expected according to the ESPRIT study.
Objectives: the purpose of this study is to understand and / or explain the reasons for this underreporting, and to determine means to improve the number of reports.
Results: 15 interviews were conducted from December 2018 to July 2019, until data saturation. The lack of knowledge of the device (11GP) and its reporting platform (15GP) are the major reasons for the under declaration, as well as professional restraints such as time (10GP) and workload (8GP); and the sentiments surrounding error, especially those of guilt (7GP) seem to slow down this statement. Professional information (12GP) is a way to encourage reporting; just like the error training (4GP) but also on its detection and its apprehension.
Conclusion: the information and training of general practitioners are the key to improving the reporting system of SAE and contributing to a safer health system.
