Parodontite et polyarthrite rhumatoïde : la dysbiose au cœur de l’auto-immunité

Abstract : Interest in microbiota has grown significantly in recent years, while this notion of flora (intestinal, oral, pulmonary, etc.) has long been relegated to the background. Today, the impact of these ecosystems on the development of pathologies is beginning to be demonstrated, without knowing all the mechanisms involved. It is known that the dysbiosis of the microbiota causes an imbalance between the pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines and therefore a deregulation of the immune response. These phenomena are found in rheumatoid arthritis and periodontitis, both of which are chronic inflammatory diseases which have interrelationships between them.
The objective of this thesis is to understand the role of microbiota dysbiosis in the development and maintenance of rheumatoid arthritis and periodontitis. What impact can the microbiota have on the development of immunity and how can it lead to a loss of self-tolerance ? What are the mechanisms that could explain such interactions ?
